Weddings International was born in 1996 in New York, when founder Barbara Bertini-Platt moved from Florence to New York.
Since then, Weddings International has organized more than 200 weddings.
BARBARA
I am a woman of passions.
I have many of them.
My lifelong passion is travel. I always say that I should have been a professional traveler, and this led me to start a career in the airline business that ultimately brought me to New York, after I met my husband on an airplane flying from Brussels to New York. Like in a movie!
I am passionate about food, which I love and enjoy in every possible cultural variation. This said, of all the gastronomic experiences, I cherish a simple dinner with my best friends…
I am not a fashion victim but I am careful about trends even though I really enjoy to create my own style – mix-and-match with a penchant for vintage clothing and accessories – I prefer one-of-a-kind costume jewelry to the real stuff.
My most valuable possessions?...My IPod with all my music! Music makes always the perfect soundtrack to my daily life!
My ultimate passion is sharing. I love to share my experiences with friends and family – I love people, trends, Italy…and that is why I love my job that lets me share my Italian insider’s experience with fellow travelers who are as passionate and demanding as I am!

Growing up in the hills of Chianti, I could see from my bedroom window the gentle hills pointed by castles and tiny country chapels, I have lived my whole life surrounded by beauty, living “La Dolce Vita”! That’s why I have a great passion for my country!
I love the autumn light glistening on the vineyards, the view of Florence from the Santa Trinita Bridge, a glass of Brunello, the tasty Sicilian food, I love unexplored islands, the intense blue of the Mediterranean sea surrounding Capri, I love the simple natural beauty of things. I love smile to life…. She always smiles me back!
I studied language and history for many years in Florence and I developed more then 15 years of experience in sales and corporate events planning, working for several international companies: such as Pentair Inc. and La Nouvelle Bague, but nothing is more inspiring and fulfilling than helping create a special moment in someone’s life!
